The risk is especially higher in first pregnancies, obese patients, those over the age of 40, those with diabetes, cardiovascular disease, those with high blood pressure in previous pregnancies, those with a family history, those with lupus and thrombophilia, multiple pregnancies, and those receiving IVF treatment.
