How is IVF performed?
There is a preparation phase for IVF. The aim is to achieve a large number of ovulations. Ideally, 10-15 eggs are tried to be obtained in IVF. If necessary, your ovulation is monitored by ultrasound at 3-day intervals. When ovulation is of the appropriate size and number, you will receive an injection to mature the eggs. Then, under anesthesia, your eggs are collected with a special needle under ultrasound guidance. The embryologist brings sperm and eggs together in special containers and in a reproductive environment. In other words, an embryo (the first fertilization cell) is formed. The embryos are allowed to reproduce in a suitable environment for 3 or 5 days. On the appropriate day, the embryos are placed into the uterus with a special catheter. You will need to take some medication for the embryo to attach to the uterus. A pregnancy test is performed 12 days after the procedure.
